Training tips
Novices: It's a good idea to train in each discipline at least once a week and if possible twice.
Start off slowly until you can do the distance comfortably and then once a week work on speed.
Then once a week try to do a "brick" where you combine two exercises one after the other.
If you are training properly 60% of your training will be well below maximum; at a easy to speak to someone pace.
Try to end all your workouts strongly, in other words, don't "blow" and exhaust yourself.
Intermediates
The quickest way of improving your time is to practice transitions, so that you save time and your body gets used to the changes.
Swim for style and save your legs.
Make sure that you recover quickly and train on hills at least once a week.
Two sessions a week should include 3 minute intervals, varied through the disciplines.
Remember to rest enough. The biggest risk for multisporters is overtraining.
